All Barnsdale stairs are manufactured in our own factory using the very latest machinery. A wide choice of materials and the best quality components available ensure that the end result meets the high standards our customers have come to expect. Our stairs are normally dry fitted in the factory, by draw boring. In this way we are able to keep site work down to an absolute minimum.Wide Range Of Components
George Barnsdale has a reputation for using only the best quality components. The range has been developed with the professional installer in mind to give a wide choice to meet any particular circumstance. The guide below gives some idea of our standard manufacturing specification on our stair range. Variations to these standards can be made if required.
Standard Manufacturing Specifications
- Dry fit all newels to carcasses
- Dry fit all handrails to rake
- Tenon one end of landing return handrail
- Assemble turned newels
- Mortice all landing return newels
- Draw bore all newels on to string tenons
- Draw bore all newels on to handrail tenons
- Assemble and fit bottom step
- Supply flush drop newel caps
- Supply flush loose blocks and wedges for site assembly
- Bag all loose components for protection
- Fit all winders (dry assembly)
- Cut all risers on winders
- Cut all spindles to rake
- Bottom riser extended to be incorporated into floor screed, or cut to size
CAD/CAM
Our pricing is very competitive due to the most up to date robotic equipment in the country. Our CNC machining centre has a 6 metre bed for maximum efficiency when manufacturing stairs.
CAD CAM pre-manufacture allows for simple changes to individual plots. Latest robotic manufacture provides low cost & unique accuracy. Pre-machined parts gives a low fitting cost.
